Feet in Focus
FAQs

What is a Pedorthist?

A Pedorthist is a health care professional who is specifically trained and educated in the design, fit and function of footwear, orthotics and foot devices, to prevent or alleviate foot problems caused by disease, congenital defect, overuse or injury.

Are Feet in Focus consultations covered by Medicare?

Feet in Focus consultations and products cannot be claimed on Medicare.

Can I claim anything back from my Private Medical Insurance?

We are registered providers with most major Australian health funds, covering the costs of products provided by Feet in Focus. Unfortunately, consultations cannot be claimed.

Although not all health funds require it, a referral is usually recommended if you intend to claim.

Are referrals necessary?

A referral is not required for a Feet in Focus consultation. However, for complex cases or for patients who have undergone previous treatment or surgeries, it is beneficial for us to know your medical history. Referrals are also helpful in claiming back from health funds and may be required if you are accessing government funding schemes. Find more information by reading through our Referrals page.

Is Feet in Focus NDIS registered?

Feet in Focus is an NDIS registered organisation providing full service including consultation & assessment, report writing, prescription and supply of custom-made orthopaedic footwear and foot orthotic devices.

What product guarantees do Feet in Focus offer?

Feet in Focus guarantees the highest quality in service and workmanship. To ensure our patients are receiving the best possible service and treatment, we offer free follow-up service on all custom made orthopaedic footwear and orthotic solutions up to and inclusive of three months.

Please be aware that wear-and-tear and any damage caused by the misuse of the client is not covered by the guarantee offer.

What are the Feet in Focus trading hours?

Feet in Focus consultations and assessments are by appointment only.
Our clinic is open Monday to Friday 9:00am – 4:00pm.

The following appointment times may be available:
Monday to Thursday: 9:00am – 4:00pm

What do I need to bring to my initial consultation?

It is advisable to bring a pair of well-worn footwear, along with any X-rays and referrals regarding any relevant medical history to your initial consultation.
Feet in Focus also welcomes any pictures of footwear you wish to have incorporated into the design of your custom made orthopaedic footwear.

If you are accessing government funding such as EnableNSW, ACTES, or NDIS, please read through our Referrals page to learn more about what to bring to your appointment.

What payment options are available?

Feet in Focus accepts Eftpos, Mastercard, Visa, Cash and Cheque.

Is there a cancellation fee?

Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48-hours notice may result in a charge of 100% of the consultation rate.

Are home visits available?

Unfortunately we do not have capacity to provide home visits.
